Tariq St. Patrick vows to become the “apex predator” as his rivals and the cops threaten to take “everything,” in the season 4 trailer for Power Book II: Ghost.
Starz unveiled the preview on Thursday, May 9, which shows Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) admitting he won’t survive the threats alone.
“I need help. Noma, Effie, the Tejadas, they’re all working against me,” Tariq says.
To make matters worse, the police are hot on his trail too.
Michael Ealy, who joins the cast as Detective Don Carter, warns Tariq: “I know the truth. I know who you are and I’m going to put you where you belong.”
“With targets on his back from all angles, Tariq must decide whether to embrace the St. Patrick name for better or for worse. Everyone is on the hunt for revenge and each character’s respective motivations fuel their power of choice to dive deeper into the game or fight their way out,” the official description for the season says.
Starz announced in March the series would end with season 4. While the crime drama is among the highest-rated shows on Starz, CEO Jeffrey Hirsh recently said the network plans to develop more new shows instead of extending some of its current series.
In a statement on Thursday, series star Michael Rainey Jr. teased the final season will be “epic.”
“While this chapter of Power Book II: Ghost is ending, you absolutely cannot miss this final season. I’ve loved working with this cast and crew and we can’t wait for you to see this epic grand finale to a series that’s been so close to our hearts over the past four years. The Power Universe is blessed with the most amazing fans and I personally can’t wait for their reactions as all of the action unfolds!”
The cast also includes Gianni Paolo as “Brayden Weston,” Mary J. Blige as “Monet Tejada,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith as “Davis MacLean,” Woody McClain as “Cane Tejada,” Lovell Adams-Gray as “Dru Tejada,” LaToya Tonodeo as “Diana Tejada,” Alix Lapri as “Effie Morales,” Larenz Tate as “Rashad Tate,” Caroline Chikezie as “Noma,” and Lightskinkeisha as “Brushaundria Carmichael.”
Power Book II: Ghost premiered in September 2020, and was the first Power spinoff.
The new season will debut in two parts. The first part premieres on June 7, followed by a second installment three months later on Sept. 6 at midnight on the Starz app. Both parts will air on the Starz network at 8:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and 9:00 PM ET in Canada.
