Nicki Minaj is ready to tell her story… in her own words.
The Grammy-nominated rapper shared the trailer Thursday on Instagram for a new six-part documentary series titled Nicki about her life and career.
The two-minute video begins with the rapper freestyling early in her career. Later, she gets candid in a voiceover about dealing with fame.
“You don’t get a manual on how to be a famous rapper. You just learn it as you go,” she says.

While the “Anaconda” rapper says she loves hip hop, she admits navigating the cutthroat music industry has been difficult.
“This industry is just not a loving, supportive place. They pretend sometimes, but it’s not,” she says.
The caption for her post says the series is coming soon, although it’s not yet attached to a network or streaming service.
“Coming out SOONER THANK YOU THINK, I took some time to perfect this very intimate, delicate, electrifying, inspiring body of work,” she shared. “As I decide on a home for this project, I can’t help but reflect on what I’m including in this doc. Some things are so personal, it’s scary. It’s like NOTHING you’ve seen before & I need it to be handled with care. Love you so much. Thank you for the continued support.”
