Attorney Tony Buzbee, who has filed dozens of sexual abuse lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs, is now facing a lawsuit of his own.

An unnamed celebrity filed a civil suit against the attorney and his Buzbee Law Firm on Monday, Nov. 18, in Los Angeles alleging extortion, according to legal documents obtained by USA Today.

The “high-profile” male celebrity who filed the 17-page complaint is listed as a John Doe. He alleges Buzbee is “shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums from him” after threatening the celeb with “fabricated and malicious allegations of sexual assault.”

In response to the complaint, Buzbee posted a statement on his Facebook page Monday, saying the celeb is trying to stop him from “revealing names in public lawsuits.”

“We won’t allow the powerful and their high-dollar lawyers to intimidate or silence sexual assault survivors,” Buzbee wrote.

He went on to claim the celeb’s lawyers quickly contacted TMZ, which reported on the case Monday, in “an apparent effort to silence those who allege sexual assault.”

Buzbee added that the claims against him are “not only without legal merit, [they are] laughable.”

He explained that his firm sent a “standard demand letter” on behalf of two accusers to a New York attorney representing an alleged perpetrator and potential defendant. The letter sought a confidential mediation to resolve the claims without court intervention.

“No amount of money was included in the demand letters. No threats were made,” Buzbee said. “The demand letters sent are no different than the ones routinely sent by lawyers across the country in all types of cases.”

As previously reported, the Texas-based attorney said during an Oct. 1 news conference that he is representing 120 Diddy accusers. He also announced a hotline to receive additional reports of abuse.

“We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors,” Buzbee said during the Oct. 1 news conference and claimed the names of some of those involved “will shock you.”

Buzbee said his firm has received thousands of calls about Diddy, and so far has been able to corroborate accusations from about 120 people.

The attorney noted that the alleged abuse occurred over 33 years — from 1991 to 2024, and he claimed the names of some of those involved “will shock you.”

Diddy, 55, is facing dozens of civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, including claims involving minors. He has denied all of the allegations.

The mogul was arrested Sept. 16, on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

His trial is set to begin May 5, 2025, in Manhattan.
