‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Cast Member Khadiyah Lewis Dies at 44

Khadiyah “KD” Lewis,  a cast member on seasons 3-4 of the VH1 series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, died May 30 at age 44, according to her brother, Jamaal Lewis.

Jamaal posted about her death on Instagram, writing, “Rest In Peace To My  Sister Khadiyah Lewis, She Was The Best.”

“This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time. All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated,” he said in a statement. “At this time, we have decided not to discuss anything surrounding her death or why she passed away.”

Lewis’s relationship with rapper Yung Joc was profiled on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

Sina Bina, Lewis’s co-star on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, also posted condolences on Instagram, writing: “Rest in Peace Queen… condolences to her family and friends.”

Born in Oklahoma City in 1981, Lewis attended Florida A&M University and Georgia State University, according to her obituary.

After working as a tax consultant and real estate broker, Lewis first appeared on the reality show as the real estate agent and business consultant of Yung Joc, on six episodes of season 3.

She was a more regular cast member in season 4, revealed as Yung Joc’s girlfriend, with appearances in 13 of the season’s 19 episodes.

Survivors include her mother and father, two sisters and two brothers.

A family memorial service and burial is set for June 14 in Oklahoma City. There are plans for a Zoom memorial session as well, according to reports.
