With the second season of BMF now bringing more drama and intense storylines to TV, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. says his family is impressed by what they see.
Lil Meech portrays his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, on the Starz series. The elder Flenory is currently serving time in a federal prison for running a drug trafficking ring.
Series co-stars Russell Hornsby and Michole Briana White play Charles Flenory and Lucille Flenory, the parents of Black Mafia Family co-founders Big Meech and his brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory.

In an interview with Urban Hollywood 411, Lil Meech shared what his family thinks of the series.
“My family loves it, they literally have been in tears watching it,” he said. “They’re at a loss of words because they never expected for the family to be so big and for my dad to touch so many people, change so many lives.”
The second season of the series is set in the late 1980s, and follows the BMF as their drug trafficking and money laundering business expands into Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta and Los Angeles — sometimes with fatal consequences.
Lil Meech says his family was surprised by the show’s attention to detail.
“It’s still to them like surreal, especially when we go back to Detroit and film at the house my dad lived in, you know, my grandma still is there. So everything just pulled together so perfectly,” he said.
The up-and-coming actor credits executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson with making sure his family was involved in the project “every step of the way.”
“Everything was great,” he added.
The series was just renewed for a third season on Starz after the season 2 premiere brought in more than 4 million multi-platform viewers.
New episodes of BMF drop Fridays at midnight on the Starz app, Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. On television, the series airs at 8:00 PM ET/PT on Starz.
