New details have emerged about the death of former One Direction singer Liam Payne.
According to autopsy results obtained on Monday, Oct. 21 by ABC News, Payne had multiple drugs in his system when he fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Oct. 16.
Toxicology tests reveal Payne tested positive for “pink cocaine,” a synthetic drug typically containing methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and other stimulants, as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack.
An improvised aluminum pipe was also discovered in his hotel room, according to the ABC News report.

As previously reported, police responded to an emergency call from the hotel just after 5 p.m. local time.
The hotel manager, who made the call, described the situation as urgent, stating they had “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol. He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please.”
The manager reportedly grew more anxious as the call went on, noting that the room had a balcony. Minutes later, 31-year-old Payne fell from the third floor, and medical personnel confirmed his death at the scene.
Preliminary findings from the Argentinian Public Prosecutor’s Office report also obtained by ABC show that Payne suffered 25 injuries, all related to the fall. The injuries to his head were deemed fatal, with the cause of death attributed to the height of the fall.
No signs of a struggle were found, and Payne was alone in the room at the time, authorities said.
The singer rose to global fame in 2010 as a member of boy band One Direction, formed on the British talent show The X Factor. The group, which included Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson, was put together by judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, and Louis Walsh.
One Direction went on to sell over 70 million records worldwide before disbanding in 2016, with each member pursuing solo careers.
Payne’s latest solo effort, “Teardrops,” was released in March of this year.
