Le’Andria Johnson, Xscape Bring Star Power to 2019 Black Music Honors (Photos)

Le’Andria Johnson, Tony Terry, and Tevin Campbell had the audience singing and dancing with their performances at the 2019 Black Music Honors.

The awards were taped on Thursday, Sept. 5 at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.

The show featured tribute performances by Avery Wilson, Dee-1, Jade Novah, Jagged Edge, Jekalyn Carr, Naughty By Nature, June’s Diary, Keke Wyatt, Kelly Price, Melanie Fiona, 702, and MAJOR.

During the star-studded television special, Yolanda Adams picked up the Gospel Music Icon Award.

Xscape received the Urban Music Icon Award for the platinum selling quartet’s 25 years  in the industry.

Arrested Development, R&B singer Tamia, and chart-topping performer Freddie Jackson, whose career has spanned over 33 years, also received awards.

Singer and actress LeToya Luckett and radio personality Rickey Smiley returned as the show’s co-hosts.

The two-hour special is presented by Chicago based television production company, Central City Productions. It will air on Sunday, October 20 at noon ET on Bounce TV, and in national broadcast syndication between Sept. 14 and October 20.
