Lamar Odom admits it’s a miracle he’s still walking around.
The former NBA star revealed in an interview on Kevin Hart’s ice-bath series, Cold as Balls, that he suffered a dozen strokes after collapsing at a brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.
“All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle,” Odom told Hart.
The one-on-one interview is featured on season 2 of Hart’s Laugh Out Loud network web show. The comedian asked Odom about his upbringing in Queens, his NBA career and the infamous brothel incident.

On Oct. 13, 2015, the former Los Angeles Lakers player and U.S. Olympian collapsed at the Love Ranch South brothel while bingeing on cocaine and sexual enhancement supplements, authorities said at the time.
Dennis Hof, owner of the brothel, told TheWrap that Odom was found unconscious in his room. Hof described the situation as “not good.”
Odom was stabilized and taken to Desert View Hospital by ambulance, instead of being airlifted because his 6’10” frame was deemed too large for the helicopter.
“After being treated by the physicians, arrangements were made to transport him by Mercy Air helicopter. However, Mr. Odom was unable to be transported by air due to his stature,” the Nye County Sheriff’s Office statement said in a statement on its Facebook page.
Kevin Hart expressed shock while listening to Odom recount the ordeal.
“Do you realize how close to death you were?” Hart asked, referring to the incident that made Odom a tabloid staple.
“I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma,” Odom said.
A stunned Hart replied, “Goddamn.”
Three years later, Odom admits the situation almost ended in tragedy. “It’s a good day to be alive considering the alternative,” he said.
