L.A.’s Finest will be coming back to fight more crime.

Spectrum Originals announced Friday that the Bad Boys spinoff starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba has been picked up for a second season. Union and Alba also shared details on the renewal at the Monte Carlo Television Festival.

The series debuted May 13, after NBC passed on it, and is available to Spectrum cable subscribers.

“We’re thrilled L.A.’s Finest has resonated with our subscribers in such a major way. When I first saw the pilot — a show about two strong women learning to trust and support each other and still getting into plenty of trouble — I knew I’d follow them anywhere,” Katherine Pope, head of Spectrum Originals, said in a statement.

Season one followed Syd Burnett (Union), who was last seen in Bad Boys II taking down a drug cartel in Miami. She left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. She’s now paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom with an equally complex history. The two take down the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules, and speed limits.

L.A.’s Finest is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, and 2.0 Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television.

“We are overwhelmed by the audience’s response to LA’s Finest,” said Sony Pictures Television President, Jeff Frost. “Gabrielle and Jessica are brilliant together and our incredible showrunners Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis and Pam Veasey did an amazing job of crafting an action-packed and riveting season one.”

Union and Alba executive produce alongside the show’s creators Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Pam Veasey, Doug Belgrad, Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Morrone and Anton Cropper.

All thirteen episodes of the first season will be available on-demand, exclusively to Spectrum subscribers when season one concludes on Monday, June 17.
