Jealousy, secrets and family drama set the tone in the new trailer for OWN’s The Kings of Napa.
The series follows the successful King family and its Napa Valley winery House of Kings, which has a new chain of command after family patriarch Reginald King (Isiah Whitlock Jr.) exits the company unexpectedly.
What follows is a power grab from the three King children: August King (Ebonée Noel), the middle sibling who is now tapped to be the new president of the company; Dana King (Rance Nix), the older brother and savvy CFO of the winery; and Christian King (Ashlee Brian), the youngest brother with swag who manages the winery’s bottling facility but knows little about growing grapes.
“It’s that mind of yours that’s going to take us places,” Reginald tells August in the trailer. While he has big plans his daughter, Dana is determined to bring August down “by any means necessary.”

Despite all this drama, the family members try to keep their issues hidden because as Melanie Pierce, August’s aunt (played by Devika Parikh) asks in the trailer, “Do you really want everyone in Napa to know that your picture-perfect life wasn’t as ideal as you made it seem?”
Also featured in the series are Yaani King Mondschein, who plays Bridgette Pierce, cousin of the King siblings; and Karen LeBlanc who plays Vanessa King, the matriarch of the family.
The Kings of Napa comes from executive producer Janine Sherman Barrois (Claws, Self-Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker) and Warner Bros. Television.
The series premieres Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. Watch the trailer below to get a taste of the King family saga:
