The road to success was filled with twists and turns, Kevin Hart and Chris Rock share in the trailer for their upcoming Netflix documentary Headliners Only.
“This is a story about two separate journeys that somehow align and end up at the same intersection at the top,” Hart says in the newly released teaser.
“I started when I was 18, 19,” Rock shares. “Once I got good, things moved really fast.”
Rock got his big break on SNL. He returned to the NBC sketch series in 2019 and told the audience he was fired from the show years ago. Although he got the last laugh with his massively successful movie career, stand-up shows, and Netflix specials.
Hart reveals in the trailer he was working as a shoe salesmen when he started out, and Rock helped him along the way.
The Ride Along star would eventually headline one of the highest-grossing comedy tours of all time.
“That work ethic is all attached to my mom,” Hart says. “The biggest reward to your parents is just seeing your child figure it out. I wish my mom could have seen me figure it out.”
The documentary gives audiences a behind the scenes look at the comedy superstars’ lives. The movie was filmed during their joint “Only Headliners Allowed” tour in New York City in July 2022.
The film is directed by Rashidi Harper.
Producers include Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Luke Kelly-Clyne for Hartbeat Productions; Chris Rock for CR Enterprises; and Malcolm Spellman, Oby M. Okoye, and Rashidi Harper for The 51B.
Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only premieres globally Dec. 12 on Netflix.
