Keke Palmer has been booked to host the 2023 Soul Train Awards on BET.
The network made the announcement on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
“Keke Palmer is a globally recognized multihyphenate talent who embodies confidence and positivity and is one of the most engaging and lovable personalities working in entertainment today,” BET executive Connie Orlando said in a statement.
The awards will be taped in Los Angeles and air on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 8 PM ET/PT on BET and BET Her.

The announcement comes as the actress and singer continues to make headlines after she accused her ex-boyfriend — actor and fitness instructor Darius Jackson — of domestic abuse and filed for a restraining order in Los Angeles Superior Court on Nov. 9.
A judge granted the order, which requires Jackson stay at least 100 yards away from both Palmer and the couple’s son, 8-month-old Leodis “Leo” Jackson. Palmer was also given temporary sole custody of the infant.
Jackson has denied the abuse allegations.
The case took a new turn Wednesday, when an 8-minute audio recording of a heated phone call between Palmer, Jackson and the actress’ mother was posted online by podcaster Armon Wiggins.
Palmer’s mom, Sharon Palmer, can be heard on the recording confronting Jackson about alleged mistreatment of the Nope star and telling him to stay away from her daughter’s home.
A furious Sharon accuses Jackson of abuse and alleges he has a history of calling her daughter a “b—h” and “c–t.”
He fires back and says Sharon is a manipulative Hollywood stage mom. Sharon tells him he’s a loser “who can’t get no acting jobs,” and says his family is a mess.
“Your b—h a– momma… she f–ked you up. She turned you into a punk a– momma’s boy who harasses a woman,” Sharon says. “Your momma should be ashamed of herself.”
Darius says he spends time at Keke’s house because that’s what she wants.
“She’s the one that kept wanting me to come back around, trust me, I didn’t want this,” he says.
Keke can also be heard on the call and replies: “That makes no sense as to why you harass.”
Darius tells Keke, “I don’t care what you think, Keke.”
The actress says Darius and his mother both have mental health issues. “She’s schizophrenic and so is he. You both need medicine,” she says.
At one point, Sharon brings up R&B singer Usher’s sexuality. She also uses racial slurs and tells Darius he should date women who are not Black, suggesting they would be more accepting of his behavior.
Sharon confirmed to RadarOnline that the recording is real after TMZ posted a short version of the audio, where she’s heard threatening Darius.
“You will hear him being told to leave several times,” Sharon told RadarOnline. “The point where I am cussing came in after 2 mins of him refusing to leave.”
Sharon said she “feared” for her daughter’s life at the time of the call and accused Darius of illegally recording her without her knowledge, noting that California is a two-party consent state.
