Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne paid tribute to Lance Reddick on Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Everyone on the red carpet wore blue ribbons to honor the late actor, who passed away last week.
Reddick played “Charon” in the John Wick films. The cast and crew fondly remembered him as they arrived at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
“He was a beautiful person, a really special artist, a man of dignity and grace that shone through. He shone that light on the character he played, Charon. He shined that to all of us on the set,” Reeves told Extra. “He was just beautiful.”
Fishburne said he is still “shocked and grieving” the loss of his friend.
“I hope that people will remember him with as much love as I have for him in my heart — a lot,” he shared.
Reddick, 60, died “suddenly” of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles on Friday, March 17.
The beloved actor worked in movies and TV from the 1990s up until his death. He was best known for his roles as authority figures on the acclaimed television series The Wire, Bosch and Oz.
The Baltimore-bred performer has a role in the latest installment of John Wick.
The film is directed by Chad Stahelski from a screenplay by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch.
Keanu Reeves leads the cast in the titular role and serves as executive producer. In addition to Reeves and Fishburne, the cast includes Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.
John Wick: Chapter 4 arrives in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 24.
