Adam Abdul-Jabbar, son of former Los Angeles Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, was arrested this week on suspicion of stabbing a neighbor in San Clemente, California, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The neighbor suffered multiple wounds and drove himself to the hospital, KTLA-TV reported Friday. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar was taken into custody Tuesday around 10 p.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, sheriff’s officials said. He was released on $25,000 bail Wednesday. No booking photo was released.

The neighbor spoke with the TV station and said he has known Abdul-Jabbar for years. The alleged victim, identified as Ray Winsor, said Abdul-Jabbar lives with a woman who helped raise him.

Winsor said the stabbing attack occurred after a verbal disagreement when he offered Abdul-Jabbar advice and told him he should help the woman out more.

“I think he’s got some serious problems,” Winsor said. “I think he tried to kill me. I mean, it could’ve been one inch this way, one inch that way, I could’ve been dead.”

“I want to see him get some help,”  Winsor added.

According to published reports, Adam Abdul-Jabbar appeared on Celebrity Family Feud with his famous father in 2017.
