Julie Chen has officially left The Talk.
Chen, who has moderated the popular daytime talk show since its first episode in October 2010, confirmed her exit during a videotaped message that aired Tuesday on the program.
“I have been at The Talk since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years,” she said. “But right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I’ve decided to leave The Talk.”
“I want to thank everyone at the show for our wonderful years together. I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day. It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. To everyone behind the scenes, I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much,” she added, while fighting back tears.

News of the co-host’s departure comes a week after her husband of almost 14 years, Leslie Moonves, stepped down as the CEO of CBS Corporation.
Moonves was first pressured to leave CBS after The New Yorker published an article in July detailing sexual misconduct allegations against him from six women.
Calls for the mogul’s exit intensified on Sept. 9, when journalist Ronan Farrow published a follow-up New Yorker article with claims from six additional women.
The former CEO has denied all of the allegations but claims three of the reported encounters in The New Yorker‘s latest report were consensual.
“The appalling accusations in this article are untrue,” he said in a statement to the publication. “What is true is that I had consensual relations with three of the women some 25 years ago before I came to CBS.”

Chen has supported her husband throughout the scandal, tweeting in July that he’s a “good man” and a “moral human being.”
“I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late ’90s, and I have been married to him for almost 14 years. Leslie is a good man and a loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader,” she penned. “He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband and stand behind him and his statement.”

At this point, it’s unclear who will replace Chen. The Talk airs weekdays on CBS.
