The contentious divorce between Jeannie Mai and Jeezy has taken a new turn, with the TV host accusing her estranged husband of domestic violence and child neglect.
New court documents obtained by The Shade Room on Thursday, April 25, show the former The Real host alleges there was a history of violence in the couple’s relationship.
The court filing says one incident occurred at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco on April 14, 2022. The documents allege Jeezy “choked Jeannie from behind as she was ascending the stairs, and he then pushed her down the steps.” The documents go on to say hotel security stepped in after Mai she told them she “felt unsafe.”

Another alleged incident happened in Miami in January 2022, three weeks after Mai gave birth to their daughter Monaco earlier in the month. The documents state Jeezy allegedly called his wife a “wh–re,” and said, “I can’t wait to divorce you when we get back.” The filing alleges the rapper held Mai “against her will” inside their vehicle and allegedly “struck her with a closed fist across her cheekbone and eye.”
The docs say there was another incident at the UNCF 39th annual Atlanta Mayor’s Masked Ball on Dec. 17, 2022. Mai says Jeezy became “enraged” after she left for 25 minutes to go to the restroom with a friend. She says he demanded the two leave the party in response. The documents allege Jeezy physically attacked Mai as they exited their vehicle. “He allegedly grabbed the neckline of her dress, tearing the dress and causing multiple 2-3 inch scratches across her right breast with his fingernails.”
The filing includes several photos of Mai’s alleged injuries.
The “Put On” rapper responded to Mai’s allegations with a statement on Instagram, accusing his ex of trying to “tarnish” his reputation.
“The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous,” he wrote.
He continued, “It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”
Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, married Mai in 2021, and they had one child together.
He filed for divorce in Georgia’s Superior Court of Fulton County in September 2023, saying the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”
