Chris Gotti has opened up about the last days of his younger brother, rap mogul Irv Gotti, who died earlier this month at age 54.
In a candid discussion last week with the “2Way.tv” podcast, Chris Gotti, born Chris Lorenzo, shared details about Murder Inc. Records co-founder Irv Gotti’s last meal.
Chris confirmed that his brother died from complications of a “massive hemorrhagic stroke.”

Irv Gotti was not cautious about his diabetes, continuing to indulge in unhealthy meals, his brother said. Irv’s last dinner was Chinese food.
“We all have to go at one point in time,” Chris Gotti said. “We just really wanna go on our terms. And Irv, sadly enough, he did go on his terms.”
He added, “He just didn’t believe it and he was like, ‘I’m going to go the way I wanted.’ He ate a bunch of Chinese food while playing poker and had a massive hemorrhagic stroke, which is bleeding on the brain.”
Irv Gotti didn’t know about his diabetes condition until he was in his late 40s, Chris stated. He didn’t regularly visit the doctor, “so that’s why he’s so late being diagnosed,” Gotti said.
“And when he finally did go get a real physical and a check-up, they were like, ‘You’re diabetic,’ and he didn’t believe it.”
Irv’s health continued to decline as Chris watched helplessly, stating he saw his brother “suffer” over the last three years.
Irv Gotti will be remembered for the music produced by Murder Inc. Records. The roster included Ja Rule, Black Child, and Ashanti, among others.
Gotti was buried in his Queens, New York hometown, after a funeral attended by Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Ashanti and many others.
