The Las Vegas Strip is going gospel.

Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters, and Deitrick Haddon are set to headline an all-star gospel music residency on the strip this fall.

The inaugural “Legends of Gospel: Vegas Residency” kicks off Oct. 8 and 9 at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

While gospel pioneers Clara Ward and the Ward Singers performed extended engagements in Vegas in the early 1960s, organizers said “Legends of Gospel” will be the first dedicated gospel residency the strip has ever hosted.

The concerts will bring together one of the best-selling female gospel groups of all time, alongside Grammy-winning artist Hammond, and multiple Grammy nominee Haddon.

The residency was made possible via a collaboration between IKON Presents and Dr. Holly Carter, president and CEO of Relévé Entertainment.

“Gospel has never had a true home on the Las Vegas Strip — until now,” Neal Carter, spokesperson for IKON Presents, said in a statement to Urban Hollywood 411. “Partnering with Dr. Holly Carter on this residency was essential — her relationships and her vision for Gospel music made this the right team to finally bring this genre to the Strip the way it deserves to be.”

Dr. Holly Carter said she always wanted to bring a dedicated gospel show to Vegas.

“For years, I have envisioned bringing Gospel to Las Vegas on this scale,” she said. “To now unite legendary artists in a groundbreaking residency is more than a milestone, it’s a moment.”

Tickets for the Oct. 8-9 performances go on sale this Friday at gospelvegas.com. Additional dates will be announced in the coming months.

Keesha Brickhouse, who is show producer and head of production for Relévé Entertainment, described the residency as a landmark moment for the genre.

“Producing the first gospel residency in more than 60 years is an incredible honor,” Brickhouse said. “It’s redefining what’s possible for Gospel music, and I’m excited to be a part of this historic moment.”
