Hudson Meek Dies: ‘Found’ and ‘Baby Driver’ Actor Was 16

Hudson Meek, an actor who had roles on the television series Found and the film Baby Driver, has died at the age of 16.

Meek fell from a moving vehicle on Dec. 19 and sustained blunt force injuries in his hometown of  Vestavia Hills, Alabama, according to local NBC affiliate WVTM. He succumbed to his injuries and died at the University of Alabama Hospital (UAB) in Birmingham on Dec. 21.

As per WVTM, the Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Meek’s death.

The actor’s mother, Lani Wells Meek, released a statement via her Facebook page on Dec. 21. 

“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” she wrote. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

A Celebration of Life will take place on Dec. 28, 2024, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama at 11:30 a.m. central time, and visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m. central time, per the obituary

The service will also be available on the young actor’s Instagram account or his mother’s Facebook account. 

Instead of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a Vestavia Hills High School student.

Along with starring in 2017’s Baby Driver as the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character, Meek played Teenage Sir on NBC’s Found and had roles on several other television series. As per his obituary, he has several projects that are slated to be released in 2025.

Meek is survived by his parents, brother, grandmothers, aunts, and uncles.
