Ryan Breaux, the younger brother of Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Frank Ocean, was killed in a fiery car crash with a former classmate in Ventura County, California.

The single vehicle collision occurred at 1:33 a.m. Sunday on Westlake Boulevard, north of Skelton Canyon Circle, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The sheriff’s office did not release the names of the two people who died, but people at the scene of the accident identified the victims as Ryan Breaux, 18, and Ezekial (Zeek) Bishop, 20. The two had been classmates at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, according to Los Angeles television station ABC7.

Bishop was enrolled at California State University, Northridge, and was a track and field athlete.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of Ezekial’s passing,” Director of Athletics Mike Izzi said in a statement. “Any loss of life is tragic and to lose someone so young is absolutely heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ezekial’s family at this extremely difficult time.”

A fan page on Instagram dedicated to Frank Ocean, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, posted a tribute to Ryan that included several family photos.

Ocean, 32, has not yet released a statement about the accident.
