Rapper Flo Rida’s 6-year-old son is hospitalized in an intensive care unit, after falling from a fifth-floor window at a New Jersey apartment building, according to a lawsuit filed by the child’s mother.
The lawsuit, obtained by NBC News on Thursday, says Zohar Dillard suffered “serious bodily injuries,” specifically fractures in his pelvis and left foot, a lacerated liver, collapsed lungs and internal bleeding, when he fell from the window and landed on the pavement below.
The rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Alexis Adams, said in the civil suit that the incident occurred at the family’s apartment on March 4.

Adams is suing the building’s management company and other parties alleging negligence, saying her unit had “incorrect sized guards” installed on the windows.
The lawsuit names defendants Pitch Perfect 74, LLC; Goldberg Management; Carlos Machado; and other unnamed companies, including construction and maintenance firms.
The suit claims Adams made “repeated written requests for window guards,” but they “went ignored.”
She is seeking damages, payment to cover Zohar’s medical bills, and attorney’s fees.
“As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces,” Adams said in a statement to News 12 New Jersey. “I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved In failing to take necessary safety measures.”
Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Lacel Dillard, is known for his hit singles “Low,” “Whistle,” and “Right Round.”
Adams previously sued the music star for not paying child support. In 2017, TMZ reported the lawsuit said Flo Rida refused to acknowledge Zohar was his son, even after a paternity test “showed a 99.99% chance” that the rapper is the father.
The outlet said Adams and the rapper dated for about a month and a half, starting in December 2015.
Flo Rida has not publicly commented on Zohar’s hospitalization.
