First-Look Photos Unveiled of Tyler Perry Drama ‘A Jazzman’s Blues’

Netflix has released the first photos of Solea Pfeiffer and Joshua Boone in Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues.

Described as “a sweeping tale of forbidden love,” the film follows an investigation into an unsolved murder and unspools 40 years of secrets and lies set to juke joint blues in the deep South.

Boone and Pfeiffer lead the cast as star-crossed lovers Bayou and Leanne. Rounding out the main cast are Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Milauna Jemai Jackson, Brent Antonello, Brad Benedict, Kario Marcel, Lana Young and Ryan Eggold.

The film is written, directed and produced by Perry. It will feature an original song performed by Ruth B., along with songs arranged and produced by multi-Grammy winner Terence Blanchard, music by Aaron Zigman and choreography by Debbie Allen.

Clips from A Jazzman’s Blues will debut in August at the 2022  Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, with Perry hosting a conversation following the presentation, the festival recently announced.

The film begins streaming Sept. 23 on Netflix.
