Sean “Diddy” Combs returned to federal court Thursday in New York, where a judge set a May 5, 2025 trial date in the music mogul’s sex trafficking case.

Wearing beige jail clothing, the mogul smiled at his mother Janice Combs and several of his children, who were in the courtroom to show their support, NBC News reported.

During the court proceedings, prosecutors told the judge they’re processing a “voluminous” amount of evidence, including “several terabytes of electronic material” they received from the defense.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson said the government is now in possession of 96 devices related to the case, including many seized when federal agents raided Diddy’s mansions in Los Angeles and Miami in March of this year.

According to Johnson, eight of those devices contain information described as “extraordinary.”

Johnson said prosecutors could soon add more charges via a superseding indictment.

Judge Arun Subramanian, who is new to the case after the previous judge recused himself, set another conference hearing regarding the evidence for Dec. 18.

Outside court, reporters asked Diddy’s attorney Anthony Ricco how the mogul is doing.

“He’s doing fine. It’s a difficult circumstance. He’s making the best of it. You know, Dr. King called it ‘the law of unintended consequences.’ Sometimes the more people push you down, the stronger you get,” Ricco said, according to the Associated Press.

Diddy was arrested on Sept. 16 at a hotel in New York City.

The next day, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced the mogul was charged with three federal counts — racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The Bad Boy Records founder pleaded not guilty to all charges. However, he remains jailed at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, after previously being denied bail twice.

Diddy also faces a string of civil lawsuits alleging sexual abuse.

During an Oct. 1 news conference, Houston attorney Tony Buzbee said his Buzbee Law Firm has received thousands of inquiries from alleged victims, after announcing it was working on a case against Combs.

“The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, that really wasn’t a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world,” Buzbee said. “The wall of silence has now been broken, and victims are coming forward.”

The attorney said his firm has been able to corroborate allegations from 120 of the people who came forward, including 25 who were minors at the time of the alleged abuse.

Diddy’s attorney Erica Wolff responded with a strongly-worded statement.

“Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors,” Wolff said. “He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
