Sean “Diddy” Combs spends his days at FCI Fort Dix working in the prison library, and offering life advice to other inmates as he awaits a decision on his appeal.

Those revelations came directly from the fallen music mogul’s rep, Juda Engelmayer, who recently did an interview with Us Weekly for a cover story on Combs.

“He’s trying to be one of the guys,” Engelmayer told the publication. “He sits down one-on-one with people, talks to them and helps counsel some of them. He has a following and people like him [but] he also spends a lot of time by himself.”

The music mogul’s help apparently doesn’t stop there.

He frequently offers book recommendations during his job in the prison library, where the pay ranges from “12¢ to 40¢ per hour,” according to the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website.

“He talks to inmates about what they want to read so he can recommend things to them,” Engelmayer said.

When the Bad Boy Records founder is not in the library, he spends his days working out in the prison gym or taking walks around the facility’s grounds.

He also does research for his appeal, which challenges his 50-month sentence following a July 2025 conviction on two prostitution-related counts.

“He’s become like a paralegal, if not a lawyer already,” Engelmayer said about Combs.

The rapper and producer is “hopeful” things will go his way after a three-judge appeals panel listened to arguments in the case on April 9, 2026.

“He’s focused on the appeal,” Engelmayer said, “and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person.”

Combs, 56, is currently scheduled to be released from the New Jersey prison in February 2028, according to the BOP website.

His release date was moved up from June 2028, after he had a few months shaved off his sentence for taking part in the prison’s Residential Drug Abuse Program or (RDAP).

But the mogul’s legal troubles may not be over in 2028. He faces dozens of civil lawsuits accusing him of rape and/or sexual assault and could potentially face new criminal charges in California.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed earlier this month that it is reviewing new sexual assault allegations against the mogul.

The investigation is related to a police report filed by publicist and music producer Jonathan Hay, who contacted authorities in his hometown of Largo, Florida last year alleging he was assaulted by Combs, twice.

Since the alleged assaults took place in Southern California, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were notified by authorities in Florida.

Both agencies handed over separate cases to prosecutors last year, a spokesperson from the DA’s office told NBC News.

“In the fall of 2025, LAPD and LASD each presented a separate sexual assault investigation for one victim to the LA County District Attorney’s Office,” the spokesperson said. “We are reviewing the case.”
