Cuba Gooding Jr. has officially been charged in the groping case against him.

Gooding faces one count of misdemeanor forcible touching after he turned himself in to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) Thursday, just days after a woman accused him of groping her at a bar, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

Gooding didn’t answer reporters’ questions as he walked into Manhattan’s Special Victims Division base on East 123rd Street shortly after 2 p.m. ET.  Wearing a dark suit and flanked by members of his legal counsel, the Jerry MaGuire star gave a few waves to the crowd before disappearing into the building.

The actor had his mugshot and fingerprints taken while there, according to published reports.

The police first began investigating Gooding earlier this week, after a woman alleged that he touched her breasts Sunday night during an encounter at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge near Times Square.

Gooding told TMZ Tuesday night that video footage of the incident will supposedly exonerate him, stating: “There’s a tape that shows what really happened — that’s the most important thing.”

He denied ever touching the woman, adding,  “I was at the club, I left. I met a bunch of people, I said hello, I took pictures and, you know, you have to have faith in what people are saying.”

Gooding’s lawyer, Mark Heller, also rejected any wrongdoing on behalf of his client, stating at a press conference after the charge was filed: “ I am frankly shocked and horrified that this case is being prosecuted. As you may know, originally we were not sure if we were going to surrender, because I believed that after the district attorney’s office reviewed the video, and saw that he was not culpable of any criminal conduct, that they would decline to prosecute.”

Amid the investigation, another woman reportedly came forward to accuse the actor of groping her backside at another NYC club 11 years ago.

“We heard that somebody sort of came out of the woodwork and alleged there was a touching of her derriere over a decade ago, 12 years ago. I spoke to Cuba, he has no knowledge of it,” Heller said about the second accusation.
