Christmas Ringer tells the story of Nicole (Trenyce Cobbins), a former singing star who needs to deliver a music video by Christmas to revive her career. She runs into trouble when her manager-fiancé steals her money, forcing her to return home and seek help from her mother, Anne (Arischa Conner).
Nicole wants to access her trust fund, but Anne convinces her to become choir director of their failing church. The choir is full of challenging singers, but with Nicole’s guidance and support from her childhood friend Jesse, they unite and aim to win the upcoming choir competition and its prize money. A victory could save their church and provide Nicole with the career boost she needs.
The original movie comes from Swirl Films and is part of BET+’s upcoming slate of holiday programming.
Christmas Ringer is directed by Patricia Cuffie-Jones from a script she co-wrote with Gregory Adams.
A release date will be announced later.
