Chris “Ludacris” Bridges asked his celebrity friends to stop by his star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — and they didn’t hesitate.
The rapper and actor received the 2,756th star on the Los Angeles landmark Thursday afternoon.
He was joined by Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Larenz Tate, Will Packer and members of The Fast and Furious family, including Vin Diesel, Tyrese, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster.
“I’m just honestly so thankful,” Ludacris said. “I [texted] Vin and said, ‘Yo, I’m getting a Hollywood star. I would love for your to speak,’ and within 60 seconds I got a text back that said, ‘I’ll be there.'”
The hip-hop star said Queen Latifah responded just as quickly.
He then joked that the speedy replies may have something to do with the fact that his friends live nearby, or maybe they attended because of the Hollywood writers strike.
“I’m not saying they hit me back so fast because there’s a writers strike going on and all their projects are on hold right now, I don’t know,” Ludacris quipped. “Support the writers by the way. Support the writers!”

The “My Chick Bad” rapper co-stars in Fast X, the 10th film in the The Fast and the Furious franchise. The movie opens this weekend and is tracking in the range of a massive $300 million global debut.
While he’s best known to many fans for his music, Ludacris received a star in the motion picture category.
After taking the podium, he paid tribute to the people who helped get his movie career off the ground, including late filmmaker John Singleton and late actor Paul Walker, who will get a posthumous star this year.
“I wore an outfit with flowers on it and I’m giving myself flowers. I’m giving everybody else their flowers today,” Ludacris said.
He urged fans to go see Fast X and credited Vin Diesel with the franchise’s success.
“Vin is the leader of the family,” he told the audience. “You are the driving force in front and behind this franchise that keeps breaking various blockbuster records and keeps changing history as we know it.”
Ludacris made his acting debut in the 2001 comedy The Wash as a customer. He landed a part in the 2003 film 2 Fast 2 Furious as Tej Parker and has been in all of the movies in the franchise since then. He’s also had roles in the films New Year’s Eve, No Strings Attached, Hustle & Flow, and the Oscar-winning Crash.
The father of four daughters was joined at the star ceremony by his wife and children.
