9-1-1 is returning with a buzz.

ABC has released the trailer for the upcoming eighth season, teasing a new disaster involving a massive swarm of killer bees.

The video opens with a fiery big rig crash in downtown Los Angeles, leading to chaos as millions of bees escape from the wreck.

“Oh my God, bees—they’re all over our car!” a frantic passenger tells a 9-1-1 operator, as the vehicle’s windows become covered by the stinging insects.

“The truck was hauling 22 million killer bees, enough bees to kill 44,000 people,” the trailer continues.

The season premiere will unfold over three parts, with first responders facing what is referred to as a “Bee-Nado.”

The disaster drama stars Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan “Buck” Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie “Chimney” Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta “Hen” Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz, and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.

9-1-1 moved to ABC after Fox announced in May 2023 that it would not renew the show.

The Season 7 premiere earlier this year drew 8.8 million total viewers, according to Nielsen data. It was the show’s most-watched multiplatform episode since November 2022.

Produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, the show was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. Executive producers include Alexis Martin Woodall, Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, John J. Gray, Kristen Reidel, and Juan Carlos Coto.

Season 8 of 9-1-1 premieres Thursday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Past seasons are available for streaming on Hulu in the U.S.
