Anthony Anderson will lead a group of male celebrities in shedding their clothes for Fox’s upcoming special, The Real Full Monty, aiming to raise awareness about cancer.
Joining Anderson are fellow actors Taye Diggs, Tyler Posey, and James Van Der Beek, along with NFL star Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs, and TV judge Bruno Tonioli from Dancing with the Stars.
The two-hour event aims to “strip the stigma around prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer,” Fox said in a press release on Monday, May 13.
“Don’t let embarrassment be the reason for not getting checked! That’s the message behind The Real Full Monty special,” Anderson shared in statement. “I am honored to lead these fearless men in baring it all to provoke, inspire, and, in this case, urge you to get screened for cancer. That’s our goal… so what are you waiting for!?”

Per Fox, Anderson, Diggs, Jones, Posey, Tonioli, and Van Der Beek will undergo intensive training and rehearsals ahead of the special.
Throughout the TV event, viewers can expect to witness not only the physical transformation of the men but also their journey as they share personal stories of how cancer has impacted their lives.
Choreographed by Emmy Award winner Mandy Moore, the culmination will be a strip-tease dance performed in front of a live audience.
The inspiration for the initiative stems from the 1997 comedy film The Full Monty, which centered around six unemployed steelworkers who ventured into the world of male striptease.
The Real Full Monty is part of a global movement, based on an international unscripted format that has seen success in the U.K., Australia, France, and the Netherlands.
The U.S. special is produced by Spun Gold TV and Fox Alternative Entertainment. Executive producers include Anthony Anderson, Dan Norris, and Ashley Edens, along with Nick Bullen and Daniela Neumann from Spun Gold.
The special is scheduled to debut in Fall 2024. An exact premiere date will be announced later.
