Andy Cohen faced criticism from some fans after he posted a video praising Wendy Williams for her work over the years as host of The Wendy Williams Show.
The Watch What Happens Live host shared a clip on his Instagram account Wednesday from a segment on his show called “Mazel of the Day.” Cohen took time out to praise Williams and said daytime TV won’t be the same now that her show is ending after 14 years.

“No matter what was happening in the world, Wendy always made us feel like we were sitting at home gossiping with friends. She presented herself as one of us and wasn’t afraid to run to controversy rather than away from it,” Cohen said.
“Her ‘Hot Takes’ on hot topics were always a wild ride. If she wasn’t happy with you by the way, she would let you know it. But the thing that always made Wendy happy was connecting directly with her audience,” he continued. “We love you Wendy Williams. We love you Wendy!”
But not everyone agreed with Cohen’s take on Williams.
“No Andy no. She was a mean gossip,” Instagram user @lizrosario66 commented on Cohen’s post.
“Wendy has time and again said horrible things about people on her show. I’m glad her platform for hate is gone,” @themarkgreeno added.
“Honestly, good riddance. She’s been so mean,” @jannie.from.the.block wrote.
“Toxicity be gone,” added @_shoegirl_.
As previously reported, Williams is leaving her daytime talk show and Sherri Shepherd will formally take over the timeslot this fall, the show’s production team announced earlier this week.
