‘America’s Got Talent’ Trapeze Act Goes Wrong Leaving Judges in Shock

America's Got Talent (NBC)

A husband and wife trapeze team suffered a terrifying mishap Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent.

Tyce and Mary, also known as Duo Transcend, started their performance with a series of death-defying flips.

The audience was clearly impressed, but nervous and gasped several times. Tyce then put on a blindfold to up the level of difficulty. That’s when the performance went horribly wrong.

Tyce — who said he is legally blind in one eye — was hanging upside down as Mary slid down his body. He was supposed to catch her feet, but lost his grip. Mary then slipped out of his hands and plunged to the floor near a line of flames.

The terrifying mishap left guest judge Ken Jeong and regular judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel in shock.

Luckily, there was a mat below, and Mary stood up to let everyone know she was okay. Mary said she wanted to try the trick again, but the judges told her it wasn’t necessary.

“It’s not America’s got perfection. This is America’s Got Talent,” Jeong said. “No one can do this! It’s okay.”

Mel B called the performance “incredible!”

Despite the fall, the duo made it to the live shows.
