All American: Homecoming has been canceled, with the series set to end after its upcoming third season on The CW.

Creator and executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll announced the young adult drama would not get a fourth season in a statement to the media on Wednesday, June 5.

“I’m devastated to learn that All American: Homecoming will not be moving forward with more episodes and that this new season premiering in July will be our final one,” Okoro Carroll said.

“However, I am so very grateful to have worked with this incredible cast and crew, led by Geffri Maya, to bring the authentic HBCU experience to your screens for the last three seasons. We made this show for the culture and thank our loyal audience and fans for taking this ride with us. We made this show so that our community, our kids and their dreams could be seen and celebrated every week and we are proud to say we accomplished that mission, especially with this exciting final season which we can’t wait to show you all. So with a heavy but proud heart, I give one final shoutout to our favorite Bringston Lions!” the statement continued.

The All American spinoff centers on Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya), a young tennis phenom from Beverly Hills as she navigates life at Bringston University, a Historically Black College in Atlanta, and pursues her dream of becoming a professional tennis player.

The cast also includes Sylvester Powell (as JR Raymond); Cory Hardrict (Coach Marcus Turner); Martin Bobb-Semple (Lando Johnson); Netta Walker (Keisha McCalla); Camille Hyde (Thea); and Rhoyle Ivy King (Nathaniel Hardin).

According to the official description for season 3, Simone (Maya) will be forced to deal with the fallout from a romantic choice she made on the second season, “but romantic drama will take a back seat when she finds her tennis ambitions threatened.”

Thea (Hyde), the team’s former “Queen Bee,” will look to make her mark on the pro-circuit.

JR (Powell) struggles to get his life back on track after he was ousted from KEK.

Coach Marcus (Hardrict) deals with the consequences of his wife’s return.

Lando (Bobb-Semple) forges new bonds with the friend group and becomes a regular at “family dinner,” and Cam (Edwards), Keisha (Walker) and Nate (King) all struggle to balance romantic relationships with their chosen career pursuits.

The series premiered on The CW in February 2022. It comes from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions.

In addition to Nkechi Okoro Carroll (Found, Rosewood), executive producers include Greg Berlanti (Found, The Flash), Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, Dead Boy Detectives), Robbie Rogers (Fellow Travelers, All American), Marqui Jackson (Rosewood, The Resident) and Lindsay Dunn (Found, From).

The third and final season of All American: Homecoming premieres on Monday, July 8.

All American was renewed earlier this week for a 13-episode seventh season to premiere in 2025.
