Is the recently canceled Roseanne about to get a lifeline?
A revamped version of the sitcom without controversial star Roseanne Barr is being seriously considered, Deadline reported Friday.
The site said Roseanne producers have a meeting scheduled Monday to pitch the idea to ABC and Disney executives.

The new version would likely “stay true” to the first season of the revival, and “there could be stronger emphasis on Sara Gilbert’s character Darlene.”
Gilbert is an executive producer on the reboot.
ABC canceled the series on May 29, amid a backlash over comments made on social media by Barr.
The network’s decision came just hours after she tweeted racially-charged comments about Valerie Jarrett, a top adviser to former President Barack Obama.
During her tweetstorm, the comedian also lashed out at former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, and she called billionaire Democratic donor George Soros – who is Jewish – a “Nazi.”

Barr later apologized and suggested that she was under the influence of prescription sleeping drug Ambien, when she posted the fiery tweets.
“Guys I did something unforgiveable [sic] so do not defend me,” Barr told her fans in a tweet that has since been deleted. “It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. ty.”
ABC’s cancellation of Roseanne left dozens of the show’s crew members without jobs.
