‘Sacrifice’ Season 2 Gets Long-Awaited Premiere Date on Paramount+

Nearly five years after the first season debuted in 2021, Paula Patton is returning to the courtroom for season 2 of Sacrifice.

Paramount+ announced Wednesday the long-awaited second season will debut on Sept. 30.

The 10-episode season brings Patton back as Daniella Hernandez, a high-powered Los Angeles entertainment attorney who built a career handling complicated cases involving her wealthy and famous clients.

In season 2, Hernandez enters the world of finance while fighting to protect her family’s birthright, according to Paramount+. Meanwhile, Beverly Rucker’s run for mayor in a recall election tests her moral center, and Dom Mayfield discovers that the road to legitimacy is more difficult than he thought.

The show’s cast includes Juan Antonio, Clifton Powell, Veronika Bozeman, Altonio Jackson, Nicyoe Banks, Michael Toland, James Trevena, and Nelson Bonilla.

Erica Ash, who died of cancer in July 2024, also appears in the new season, indicating that at least part of it was filmed some time ago. The late Richard Roundtree additionally appears in the trailer for the new season.

Sacrifice began as a movie that premiered on BET+ in December 2019, with the possibility of becoming a series. The streamer officially picked up the legal thriller in 2020, and the first season premiered in November 2021.

Series co-creator Chris Stokes announced in July 2022 on social media that the show would return for a second season, but fans received few updates in the years that followed.

Patton is known for starring in films including Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, Baggage Claim, Warcraft, Traffik, and Déjà Vu opposite Denzel Washington. She also led the cast and produced the faith-based movie Finding Faith (2025).

The actress serves as an executive producer on Sacrifice alongside the late Kevin Arkadie, who died in December 2025. Ruth Ferrera is a co-executive producer, while Marcus Guillory serves as supervising producer. Edward Allen Bernero and Felicia Henderson are consulting producers, and Paul Hall serves as producer.

Season 2 premieres with two episodes Wednesday, Sept. 30 on Paramount+, which absorbed BET+ in June of this year. New episodes will then be released weekly on the streaming service.
