Garcelle Beauvais is focused on the future, not past reality TV drama.
The actress, producer and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star sat down for an Oct. 22 interview on “The Breakfast Club,” and explained why she left the Bravo series.
“It was great in terms that I got a new audience and there were really wonderful things that happened because of the show. But I think my time was up,” she shared.
Garcelle stopped by the radio show to discuss her new Lifetime movie Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie. While she was eager to discuss her work starring in and executive producing the Lifetime thriller, “The Breakfast Club” hosts wanted the scoop on RHOBH.

They asked Garcelle if she missed filming the Bravo series, to which she quickly replied, “No.”
The model and actress then got real about why she left the show in March at the end of Season 13.
“I just couldn’t do it anymore. It was really hurting my spirit. That was really it. I couldn’t physically, mentally, spiritually do it anymore,” she said.
DJ Envy, who seemed to know a lot about the show, asked if a reported rivalry with Bozoma Saint John prompted her exit. But Garcelle said absolutely not, she just wanted peace.
“I’ve been really great about choosing me when I’m faced with something. I’ve done it with relationships, I’ve done it in other places where I felt like, ‘If I don’t choose me, it will probably not work out for me.’ I have faith, and I just knew it was time,” she explained.
The hosts continued to pepper her with questions about RHOBH, but she had enough and took control of the interview.
“I’m here for my movie. I’m selling shows,” Garcelle said. “I just would like to stay on a positive note.”
The actress and model has a production deal with Lifetime and Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie is her latest film. She plays a trucker and co-owner of her family’s business, who uses her contacts in the trucking community to spearhead the search for her missing niece.
Rising star Sierra Sidwell (Buying Back My Daughter) co-stars as her niece. At the movie’s red carpet premiere last week in Los Angeles, Sidwell told us the most challenging part of the role was spending 12 hours in the trunk of a car.
“My first day on set, they threw me in the trunk and I just screamed my head off,” she said.
Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie is the third installment of Lifetime’s Black Girl Missing franchise. The film premieres Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
