21 Savage remembered his brother by posting two photos on social media. One picture showed the brothers side-by-side as children. The other photo was of Davis posing in an all-black outfit.
“Can’t believe somebody took you baby bro I know I took my anger out on you. I wish I could take that s— back,” the “X” rapper wrote.
21 Savage was a year older than his brother and the two were said to be very close.
“They used to speak on the phone quite a bit and on WhatsApp. I don’t think Savage has been back to Britain for a while because he’s had some legal problems in the U.S.,” a source told the Daily Mail.
21 Savage was born in east London as Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph before moving to Atlanta with his mother at age 7, after his parents separated.
The rapper was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in February 2019, for overstaying his visa when he returned from the U.K. following a visit in 2005.
Days after his detention, he was released on bond and the hearing was postponed indefinitely, after the case drew international attention.
21 Savage won a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Song category for “A Lot.”
