As family members search for answers in the death of Reyna Dunlap, a social media influencer who reportedly hoped to join the Zeus Network series Baddies Midwest, a network rep has issued a statement about the case.

Dunlap, 30, had more than 82,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) and was known to her followers as “The Nude Queen.” She had another 17,000 followers on Instagram, where she used the handle @rainaisthequeen.

She lived in Maryland, but her sister Kira Dunlap said on TikTok that Reyna had traveled to Ohio in hopes of landing a spot on Baddies Midwest, a controversial reality show that follows young women chasing fame, arguing and throwing punches.

“This is why she was in Cleveland, Baddies Midwest was filming in Cleveland. She wanted to be on this show,” Kira said, adding that Reyna knew the show’s executive producer and some of the cast members.

As the case made national headlines, a representative for Zeus Network issued a statement to Urban Hollywood 411 on Tuesday, Jan. 28, regarding Reyna’s death.

“The network held auditions for Baddies Midwest in Detroit in August 2024 and traveled the Midwest area with a stop in Cleveland [at the] top of October 2024 – but did not hold auditions in Cleveland,” the statement read. “Thus, this young lady’s death is not affiliated with the network as she died months after the network visited Cleveland. She was not cast in the series and the network did not meet with her.”

Reyna’s body was found in an abandoned house in Cleveland on Jan. 21, according to local news reports.

The exact date that she arrived in Cleveland is unclear. What’s also unknown is the specific date that she died.

A spokesperson with the Cleveland Police Department told local news site Cleve Scene that her death “is believed to be an overdose.”

However, in a TikTok post, her mother Karen Jones said the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office admitted there is no evidence that her daughter had been using drugs.

“We asked was there evidence of any tracks on her body? ‘No,’ Was there any evidence on her, near her body of drug use? ‘No,’” her mother said she was told.

Jones said authorities told her the preliminary investigation listed an overdose as the possible cause of death, because her body was found in a house littered with drug paraphernalia.

The family is awaiting the results of toxicology tests. Her sister has started a GoFundMe page to cover funeral costs and a private investigator.
