Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are setting the record straight about their involvement with Scientology.
The couple appeared on Jada’s Facebook series, Red Table Talk, on Monday and denied the longstanding rumor that they belong to the Church of Scientology, a controversial organization founded by Ron. L Hubbard in 1953.
Actress Leah Remini, who hosts Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E, first made the accusation about the Smiths in September 2017.
“I know Jada’s in. She’s been in Scientology a long time,” Remini told The Daily Beast. “I never saw Will [Smith] there, but I saw Jada at the Celebrity Centre. They opened up a Scientology school, and have since closed it. But Jada, I had seen her at the Scientology Celebrity Centre all the time.”
Will denied the couple’s supposed ties to Scientology, saying on the episode: “Let’s clear some rumors, just to have it on record. We’ve never been Scientologists.”

The actor also squashed the rumor that he and Jada are swingers, gossip the couple of 23 years has denied before.
“That’s a specific type of lifestyle,” the Girls Trip actress chimed in.
On a future episode of Red Table Talk, Remini will sit down with Jada to end their feud over Scientology.
The singer-songwriter told People that the conversation was cathartic, revealing: “What was really emotional about it was realizing that there was two broken little girls in us that were abandoned by their fathers and turned into fighters who clashed.”
