When the 2020 Golden Globe nominations were announced Monday morning, Marriage Story led the film nominees with six nods. On the television side, Chernobyl, The Crown and Unbelievable topped the competition with four nominations each.
One title missing was When The See Us. The Ava DuVernay limited series about five young men of color wrongfully convicted of the 1989 rape of a Central Park jogger failed to get a single nomination.
The four-part Netflix drama won two Primetime Emmy Awards in September — lead actor in a limited series for Jharrel Jerome and outstanding casting. Yet when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association unveiled the Globe nominations today, the series didn’t make the cut.

Another buzzworthy show that came up empty-handed was HBO’s Watchmen starring Regina King, despite receiving widespread praise and having a loyal following. The premium cable network’s controversial yet acclaimed series Euphoria featuring Zendaya was also overlooked.
Critical darlings Queen & Slim, Us, Just Mercy, Clemency, and Waves were snubbed as well.
