Wendy Williams’ Son Arrested on Suspicion of Assaulting His Dad

The teenage son of Wendy Williams, Kevin Hunter Jr., was arrested overnight on suspicion of punching his dad Kevin Hunter Sr. in the face, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The incident happened at a store in Essex County, New Jersey. Kevin Jr. — who is the couple’s only child — allegedly assaulted his dad during an argument. The 18-year-old was taken into custody and charged with simple assault. He was later released, and the case will be handled in family court.

The alleged assault came as the teen’s parents are involved in a bitter split.

Williams filed for divorce from Kevin Sr. on April 11, following reports that he was involved in an ongoing affair with massage therapist Sharina Hudson, who recently had a baby. Williams and Hunter were married for 22 years.

Days later, he released a statement saying: “I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans.”

Williams also cut ties with her husband professionally. He had been her business manager and an executive producer on The Wendy Williams Show. A spokesperson for the show confirmed his exit shortly after the couple separated.

“Kevin Hunter is no longer an executive producer on The Wendy Williams Show,” a rep said in a statement to the media. “Debmar-Mercury wishes him well in his future endeavors.”
