Basketball Wives is set to return to VH1 for an eighth season in June.
Longtime cast members Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman, Evelyn Lozada, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo and Jennifer Williams are all coming back, VH1 announced in a press release Wednesday.
Kristen Scott, Cece Gutierrez, and Ogom “OG” Chijindum — who were introduced last season — are also returning. They’ll be joined by newcomer Feby Torres, who has two children with her ex-boyfriend, NBA star Lance Stephenson.
The new season will move from Monday to Wednesday nights, and follow the women over 16 episodes as they balance careers, love, families and friends.
After her son’s recent heart surgery, Shaunie is focusing on second chances. Evelyn is working on her relationship with her son and daughter, while Malaysia is struggling to find a solution to her current family drama.
For Tami, unresolved confrontations could change the dynamic of her relationships with her daughters and friends forever.
Jackie is experiencing empty nest syndrome as she prepares for her son to go off to college, and Jennifer wants to rekindle friendships after a bombshell last season.
Seeing that it’s Basketball Wives, you know there will be conflict. VH1 says cast members, including Roman, Pargo and Williams will be dealing with unresolved confrontations and troubling rumors.
The show premiered in 2010 and follows women connected to professional basketball players, including wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends.
Initially set in Miami from 2010 to 2013, the show became known for drama, rumors and on-screen feuds. VH1 expanded the franchise with Basketball Wives LA in 2011. The Los Angeles-based spinoff aired until 2016. Then In 2017, casts from both shows were combined into a revamped version of the series set in L-A.
The show is produced by Truly Original, Shed Media and VH1. Shaunie O’Neal serves as an executive producer. Season 8 of Basketball Wives premieres Wednesday, June 19 at 8PM ET/PT on VH1.
