Wendy Williams Doing ‘Better Than Ever’ After Leaving Wellness Facility

Wendy Williams has a message for her fans after leaving a wellness facility: “I am back.”

A spokesperson for the former talk show host issued a statement on her behalf Tuesday, saying the legendary media personality had returned home.

“We are happy to report that Wendy Williams is home and healing after being in a wellness facility since August,” her publicist Shawn Zanotti told People. “Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looking forward to releasing her many projects.”

Zanotti included a quote from Williams saying, “Thank you to my fans for your love, support and many prayers, I am back and better than ever.”

Williams’ team announced she had checked into a wellness facility in September, to address “overall health issues.”

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” Zanotti said at the time. “Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time.”

The announcement came after the cancellation of The Wendy Williams Show. The final episode of the show aired on June 17, but did not include an appearance by Williams.

The daytime diva was absent the entire final season of the show amid a series of health problems, and multiple guest hosts were brought in.

An August expose in The Hollywood Reporter said Williams’ addiction and health problems led to confusion among her staff. According to the report, the situation began to “snowball” back in 2017, when Williams collapsed while shooting the season’s Halloween episode.
