“The story of our lives… is written inside of us before we are ever born,” Morris Chestnut says in the trailer for the upcoming CBS series Watson.
The network released the trailer for the highly-anticipated medical mystery on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Chestnut stars in the series as the title character, Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders.
“You four are the smartest doctors I could find, but our patients don’t need doctors, our patients need detectives,” says Watson to his new colleagues.

Based on the late 19th century characters created by British writer and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the series takes place six months after the death of Watson’s friend, Sherlock Holmes, at the hands of his mortal enemy Moriarty.
“I was trying to help him, Sherlock didn’t have to die,” Watson says during a flashback scene, where we hear a gunshot and see Holmes and Moriarty fall off the edge of a cliff into the water. Then Watson jumps in in an effort to save his friend.
Eve Harlow (The 100), Peter Mark Kendall (The Americans), Ritchie Coster (Happy!), Inga Schlingmann (So Help Me Todd), and Rochelle Aytes (S.W.A.T.) also star.
The series is produced by CBS Studios, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Watson will premiere right after the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at 10 PM ET/9 PM CT.
