Vivica A. Fox has offered her take on pay inequality in Hollywood. Unlike other actresses who’ve recently addressed the issue, Fox says she’s “good” when it comes to how much she’s paid.
Speaking with TMZ, Fox recently said she doesn’t share the same “experience” as Taraji P. Henson, who has spoken up about being underpaid as a Black actress in Hollywood.
“To each [their] own. I am very happy, very blessed. To each [their] own,” Fox said.
“I didn’t have that experience, so… you know. But to get your piece out is important. I totally understand that. And I love my girls for looking out for each other,” she added, seemingly referring to actresses who have rallied behind Henson in recent weeks. “But… I’m good.”

Fox, who got her start in the industry over four decades ago, has a multi-picture deal with Lifetime to produce and star in movies for the network.
Her feature film credits include Independence Day (1996), Batman & Robin (1997) and Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003). She also had a role on the Fox music drama, Empire, alongside Henson.
Henson initially expressed her thoughts on pay inequality in an emotional interview with Gayle King in December, where she called out years of unequal pay and treatment throughout her career.
“I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, getting paid a fraction of the cost,” Henson said at the time. “I’m tired of hearing my sisters say the same thing over and over. You get tired.”
She added, “I hear people go, ‘You work a lot.’ Well, I have to. The math ain’t math-ing. When you start working a lot, you have a team. Big bills come with what we do. We don’t do this alone. It’s a whole team behind us. They have to get paid.”
Not long after her sit-down with Gayle King, Henson elaborated on her struggles on set in an interview with The New York Times, where she recounted poor working conditions on and off set.
The discussion around pay and inequality has been gaining traction in the weeks since, with various stars, including Keke Palmer and Gabrielle Union, expressing their support for Henson.

Palmer, who has been in the industry since she was a child, explained in a lengthy Instagram post that the demands of the industry have forced her to have multiple jobs to stay afloat.
“For an entertainment career you may be like me, an actor, influencer, host, speaker, etc. I keep a job because I HAVE to haha,” she wrote, eventually ending her post by quoting Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”
Gabrielle Union has also shared her support for Henson, claiming on X (formerly Twitter) that “not a damn lie was told” in response to the Empire star’s revelations about pay disparities.
While these ladies seem to relate, Fox made it clear that she feels differently.
