Tyler Perry to Host ‘Sistas After-Show Edition’ Following Mid-Season Finale on BET

When the mid-season finale of Tyler Perry’s Sistas airs Wednesday night, it will be followed by an after-show hosted by series creator Tyler Perry.

The special called The Tyler Perry Show: The Sistas After-Show Edition will give viewers a look behind-the-scenes at the series, BET announced Friday in a press release.

The broadcast is set to feature Perry interviewing cast members KJ Smith, Mignon, Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown and Crystal Renee’ Hayslett. In BET’s words, “tea will be spilled, but just enough to get fans ready for the midseason premiere of Tyler Perry’s Sistas airing in October.”

Sistas follows a group of single Black females as they navigate their complicated love lives, careers and friendship through the ups-and-downs of living in a modern world of social media and unrealistic relationship goals. The series premiered in 2019, and has gained a loyal following.

In the midseason finale titled “Unlock it,” Andi will have a sudden change of heart after another one of Gary’s antics strikes home.

Then in the after-show, Perry and the cast will discuss the series, the casting of the show and BET says no topic will be off-limits. Taped at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta in front of a live, socially-distanced, fully vaccinated, and COVID-19-tested audience, the special will break down some of the juiciest and most talked about moments of the series.

The two-hour Sistas television event will start Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 9 PM ET/PT with the midseason finale, followed by The Tyler Perry Show: The Sistas After-Show Edition at 10 PM ET/PT on BET and BET Her.
