Tyler Perry caused traffic to back up for five miles in Atlanta on Sunday morning, all for a good cause.
The entertainment mogul’s Tyler Perry Studios handed out 5,000 boxes of food and $25 gift cards to Georgia residents, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The studio let the public know about the event via a flyer on social media with the hashtag #TPSGiving Food Giveaway.

Local station WSB-TV in Atlanta reported so many residents responded that the boxes were already distributed by 10 a.m. Sunday, but gift cards continued to be given out.
Perry has long been involved in giving back to the community.
In June, he offered to pay for the funeral of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, who was killed in an altercation with Atlanta police.
A couple of weeks later in July, Perry donated a thousand Kroger gift cards for the Atlanta Police Department to give out door-to-door to Atlanta families.
And back in April of this year, The Haves and the Have Nots creator picked up the tab for senior customers at 29 Winn-Dixie grocery store locations in New Orleans, right after the coronavirus pandemic started.
