President Donald Trump is under fire for a politically-charged Memorial Day message.

Trump, 79, avoided the military draft five times during the Vietnam War through education deferments and a claim that he had bone spurs, according to The New York Times.

But on Monday, a day set aside to honor those who served in the U.S. military, Trump turned a tribute post on Truth Social and X into a political dig at Democrats.

“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he posted early Monday morning.

In a follow-up post an hour later, he added: “The Dumocrats have BAD POLICY, AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well! President DJT.”

The backlash was swift. Critics unloaded on Trump and said his posts were beneath the office of president.

“On a solemn holiday meant to honor fallen service members, our president chose to politicize his Memorial Day message,” one person replied on X.

“If djt has so much respect for our Military, then why didn’t he serve?” someone else responded.

“So beneath the office of POTUS. You don’t think service members can be democrats? So successful Iran made us look foolish. Please resign,” another person added.

“You continue to be disgusting and vile as always,” someone else wrote.

Hours later, Trump returned to Truth Social and blamed former President Barack Obama for the Trump administration’s war with Iran — which has led to deaths, destruction in Iran, and skyrocketing fuel prices here at home.

“Don’t forget the one who funded Iran and caused this war to happen. Obama!” Trump wrote. The post triggered more backlash.
