Trey Songz was arrested during Sunday night’s AFC championship game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for trespassing, resisting arrest and for assaulting a police officer.

TMZ reports the “Mr. Steal Your Girl” singer was released from custody on Monday morning.

The outlet reported the R&B performer was seated at the game where the Kansas City Chiefs won a trip to the Super Bowl. A witness reported Songz was getting heckled by people seated behind him before an officer came over and approached him.

There are reports Songz was approached by the officer for refusing to wear a mask, in violation of the stadium’s coronavirus protocols.

The singer is shown holding the first officer briefly in a chokehold as other officers swarm the two. Fans can be heard yelling at the police, “get off, get off.”

Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forte told local news station KMBC a physical altercation occurred during the game, and it is currently under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

Songz made headlines last month for hosting an indoor concert at an Ohio club that was defying local COVID-19 orders.
