Attorney Tony Buzbee says the unidentified celebrity who sued him for extortion was none other than hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

Buzbee, who is in the process of filing 120 sexual abuse lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs, was hit with the extortion lawsuit on Nov. 18 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

On Sunday, Buzbee released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) saying Jay-Z was the celebrity who filed the “frivolous case under a pseudonym.”

Buzbee and Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, unleashed dueling statements on Dec. 8, after the attorney filed an amended civil complaint on behalf of a “Jane Doe” accuser in New York federal court alleging Jay-Z raped Doe at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000, when she was 13-years-old.

The accuser’s civil suit was originally filed in October. Her initial complaint listed Diddy as a defendant and alleged the Bad Boy Records founder took turns raping the teenager with an unnamed male celebrity, while an unnamed female celebrity watched.

Sunday’s amended complaint alleged Jay-Z was the male celebrity.

Jay-Z responded with a lengthy statement calling Buzbee “deplorable” and saying the accuser’s claims are “idiotic.”

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?,” the statement read in part. “I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I’m more than prepared to deal with your type.”

Buzbee jumped on his computer and fired right back at Jay-Z.

“Regarding the Jay Z case and his efforts to silence my clients: Mr. Carter previously denied being the one who sued me and my firm. He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym. What he fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him. Instead, she only sought a confidential mediation,” Buzbee wrote.

The attorney continued, “Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve. As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”

Urban Hollywood 411 obtained a copy of the “high-profile” male celebrity’s 17-page lawsuit.

In addition to extortion, the complaint alleged intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In the complaint, the plaintiff said Buzbee and his law firm were “shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums” of money from the celeb or the attorney would unleash “horrific false allegations” against him.

John Doe said those allegations included “multiple instances of rape of a minor — both male and female.”

The celebrity said he was seeking a jury trial, damages and attorneys’ fees to be determined at trial.
