When The Wendy Williams Show returns for its 13th season, Leah Remini will guest host several episodes as Williams recovers from health problems.

Show producers shared the news Thursday on Instagram, saying “Hot Talk” panelists Bevy Smith; comedian and TV host Michael Yo; MTV’s The Challenge Aftermath host Devyn Simone; and entertainment journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister will co-host the premiere on Monday, Oct. 18. Remini takes over hosting duties Tuesday to Friday.

Remini is no stranger to hosting. The Emmy-winning actress, producer and author previously served as a host on the first season of The Talk.

The announcement that the King of Queens star is returning to daytime TV, comes two days after fans learned Williams will not be back at work for some time.

On Tuesday, producers announced the daytime diva “continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications,” that would not currently allow her to take her seat as host of her namesake talk show.

The premiere date for the new season has been pushed back several times over the last month due to Williams contracting a breakthrough case of COVID-19, and complications from her previous diagnosis of Graves’ Disease.

Future guest hosts for The Wendy Williams Show will be announced at a later date.
